You're enthusiastic Family and Brand Photographer based out of Lehi, Utah. Ready to dive into your vision for your images. I love sharing my knowledge that I've gained after being a professional for over 10 years! Send me your questions!
Do you want to know what is the number one thing I get asked at a Personal Brand Photography Session? It’s “What do I do with my hands??”
As a brand photographer, I’ve met countless business owners who cringe at the thought of being in front of the camera. They worry about looking awkward, feeling uncomfortable, or simply not knowing what to do with their hands. But here’s the truth: being visible online is critical for business success, and showcasing yourself with a Brand Photographer can help you look your best, appear like the professional that you are, and connect with your audience in a way that your competitors are not.
As a Brand Photographer here in Utah, I’m dedicated to helping business owners conquer their fears and show up confidently online. Practicing these easy poses before your Personal Brand Session can help make the session run a little smoother and give you some added confidence. I’m excited to share five easy poses that will make you look and feel your best in front of the camera.
This is a classic pose that works for everyone. It’s simple, yet powerful and avoids the hands on hips which seems to be everyones (including my) go to pose. And it highlights the fact that you have a blazer on and everyone know that you mean business! I’m always a fan of a good blazer. This pose creates a strong, confident stance and instantly makes you look and feel more powerful.
This pose is great because it gives your hands something to do besides just hang to your side looking sad and lonely. This is also a great and subtle way to get some branded material into your Brand Session. This can be your favorite book, laptop, notebook, planner, tool that you use in your business, etc.
This pose is great to make that instant connection with your audience. Humans subconsciously want to know that they are dealing with another human and this is such a perfect way to make that first connection and make them trust you more. It’s also something a little different than just another headshot.
This one can be used in so many situations! You can be leaning on a chair, table, countertop, fence, you name it. This pose can also take you from the beginner stage of posing to the professional model status without having to watch America’s Next Top Model.
Ok for this one take a wide stance and place your hands flat against your thighs. I usually prompt you to sway back and forth to loosen you up and get some natural movement and smiles. This pose is powerful and a fun way to start things off if you’re feeling a little nervous.
I hope these poses help you feel more confident in front of the camera and ready to show up online for your audience and potential customers. Remember, the key to great brand photography is to be yourself and let your personality shine through. With these easy poses, you’ll be well on your way to creating a strong, authentic online presence that resonates with your audience.
