As a small business owner, you know that your brand is everything. If you don’t then let me be the first to tell you it is 🙂 It’s the face of your business, the first impression that potential clients or customers will have of you. And in today’s world, where everything is visual, having high-quality, branded photography is essential. BUT if you’re struggling to figure out how to stand out let me help you figure out what you can bring to make your photos stand out and relate to your brand and business.
Brand photography is all about showing what you do and what you sell. It’s about highlighting the key elements of your business and making sure that your brand is consistent across all platforms. If you’re trying to get your face out there with networking or marketing groups you’ll need engaging high quality images to grab potential clients attention and let them see you as the professional that you are. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your personal brand photography session:
Bring items related to your business If you sell a physical product, bring some of those items with you to your brand photography session. If you’re a service-based business, bring some of the tools you use in your business, such as your laptop, notebook, or any other tools you use to do your job. These items will help to create a visual representation of what you do and help potential clients or customers to understand your business better.
Branded items that go along with your brand colors or have your logo on them are a fantastic way to customize those stock image type photos that you can use in a variety of ways. You want your name and logo to be easily recognized and on the top of everyone’s mind, so include them in your photos. Branded items can be anything from pens and notebooks to clothing and coffee mugs. They will help to reinforce your brand and make it more memorable.
Bring items you can utilize for content later. These ones are key and not something I see brand photographers talking about. When you go to use these photos, think about how you will be using them. How many posts are you going to make about drinking coffee or working at your laptop? Probably not many. But posting something valuable that your audience wants to know like “Everything you need to know about albums” is something that will capture your audiences attention and gain their trust.
And finally the one thing you cannot ignore for your personal brand photography session is something personal. This is something that can have nothing to do with your business but is important to you. It could be your favorite food, book, hat, or anything else that you love. Something that is culturally or geographically significant, or just a favorite pillow that everyone asks about when they come into your office. This will help to humanize your brand and make it more relatable. These photos are perfect for your about page on your website and can help with your SEO to get you to rank higher.
I hope you found these tips helpful! Whether, you hire me as your brand photographer in Utah or you’re just looking for some brand inspiration photos let me know in the comments!
