If you’re looking for a local food photographer in Utah you’ve come to the right place! I loved working with Dessert Collective and Eleanor’s Coconut cream to bring these different dessert items together for one cohesive look for their new opening in American Fork in the heart of Utah county. Being a food photographer in Utah county means that I get to work with some amazing people and try the best food ever!
For this food photography session I worked with the owners of various food trucks to bring their collective desserts together for a cohesive look and feel. They really wanted the focus of their dishes to be more about the food than anything else. We stayed away from distracting utensils or plates and got down and dirty with the ingredients directly on the surfaces I was working on. In addition to capturing their mouth watering desserts (I’m getting hungry just looking at all these photos!) We got a few images of the people behind the brands! I loved getting to know how they got started and what their plans were for the future.
The best part about me coming to you is I can work quickly before opening hours or when things are slow so we can have the freshest looking food possible. No hot studio lights required! This was crucial for the ice cream as it has a very unique shape that couldn’t be manipulated with some other substance that I’m sure you’ve seen on youtube videos of other food photography tricks. They had a very specific machine that made these super cool intricate ribbons. I only had a minute or so before they would start to melt. Good thing we had a plan of the shots they wanted so I could move quickly and get everything I needed. My favorite part is always the tasting when things are all done. This coconut ice cream is seriously so good! It made eating something cold in the dead of winter just make sense.
Whenever I do food work I bring a little mini studio with me so there’s no need to worry about your tables or background looking a mess! I’ve got all that covered with different backgrounds to choose from!
The session turned out to be so much fun! I always advice social media managers to join as it’s a great way to get some fun behind the scenes content, and content in general for these sessions to store and use later with the photos from the restaurant photography session.
